After logging into PSN and booting up Battlefield 3, press start and look for the “Store” in the game’s main menu screen.
Step 2
When you’re on the store page, press “Triangle” to “Redeem Code.”
Step 3
There is an Online Pass code included on an insert in your copy of Battlefield 3. Enter this code now. If you do not have a code, you can buy one for $9.99 through Battlefield 3’s “Store”.
Step 4
Once your Online Pass code is entered, you’ll be prompted to confirm the download, which will ensure your console and PSN account are verified for the Battlefield 3 Online Pass.
Step 5
Once the Online Pass is confirmed, it will be added to your active downloads.
Step 6
You’ll receive a confirmation of activation message and your content license will be recognized by the game.
Step 7
Once downloaded and activated, the Online Pass will have been registered to your account, granting you access to Battlefield 3’s online multiplayer modes and Battlelog.
After booting up Battlefield 3 and logging into XBL, press the “Guide” button on your controller.

Navigate to the “Marketplace” tab, and select “Redeem Code”.

After making the request, your account will automatically be granted access to a 48 hour Online Pass trial for the platform you selected, and you will receive a notification email (make sure you check your spam folders if you can't find this email.)
Once the trial has expired, you will also receive an email letting you know when the access period is over. Please note, you can only get this free trial pass ONCE, for any platform, all future attempts to activate a pass will be rejected.
After this point, if you want to continue to play BF3 Multiplayer you'll need to purchase an Online Pass.
ORIGIN IS A SERVICE FROM EA WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO EASILY BUY, DOWNLOAD AND PLAY GAMES. YOU CAN FIND THE ENTIRE ORIGIN FAQ BY CLICKING ON THIS LINK.
ORIGIN IS NOT REQUIRED TO PLAY ON XBOX 360 OR PLAYSTATION 3. FOR PC, ORIGIN WILL BE USED TO DISTRIBUTE DIGITAL PC VERSIONS OF THE GAME, deliver patches to all PC Battlefield 3 players, AND TO RUN THE GAME, AND IS REQUIRED.

There is currently no way to remove these games from your “My Games” tab, but we will release an update to the Origin client in the near future that will address this.

There have been some misunderstandings around Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield 3. To address this we are making Battlefield 1943 available free of charge to owners of Battlefield 3 on the PS3 beginning this month.
Battlefield 1943 PlayStation 3 vouchers will be available on the following dates via the redemption portal
- November 26th, 2011 for Battlefield 3 players on PlayStation Network Sony Europe
- December 10th, 2011 for Battlefield 3 players on PlayStation Network Sony America
- December 17th, 2011 for Battlefield 3 players on PlayStation Network Sony Asia and Sony Japan
Please note: Players in Australia, India and New Zealand should use the PlayStation Network Sony Europe option when selecting a territory.
To download your copy of Battlefield 1943 for the PlayStation 3 please follow the easy steps below.1. Activate your Battlefield 3 Online Pass for the PlayStation 3 using the voucher included in the game (see step #5 for additional instructions).
2. Visit 1943redemption.battlefield.com on or after the dates outlined above for your region and log in with your Origin ID and password. Click here if you need help with retrieving your account information.
3. Select your territory. Note vouchers do not work across regions. PLAYERS IN AUSTRALIA, India AND NEW ZEALAND SHOULD SELCECT EUROPE.
4. You will then receive a PlayStation 3 voucher for Battlefield 1943.
5. input your voucher into the PlayStation Network store. Instructions below.
a) From the XMB (cross media-bar) of the PlayStation 3 connected to a network, choose [account management] under the [PlayStation Network].
b) From the menu select redeem codes.
c) Enter voucher and select continue.
d) Download Battlefield 1943.
We are aware that a minority of people playing Battlefield 3 are taking advantage of exploits and/or are using cheats/hacks. We appreciate our loyal fans for their reports of these incidents and please rest assured that we have a dedicated team actively seeking out those users.
The DICE team is working around the clock to improve the lag and rubber-banding some users are encountering. To help mitigate it in the interim, please connect to servers near you by setting your filter to sort by “ping” and selecting the lowest-pinging server. Also, for PC users, please make sure that you don’t have any programs running in the background that requires internet connection or is streaming data.

Check to see if there is an update available for your graphics card at AMD.com or NVIDIA.com, depending on the manufacturer of your graphics card.
During Beta the DICE team was still fine-tuning the ranking system, and we didn’t want to give Beta players an unfair advantage when the full game released. Your solider name will carry over, though.
Currently the quick match function for Battlefield 3 multiplayer on the Xbox 360 platform is not functioning properly. While we are working to repair this problem as quickly as possible, please know that you can still find and join matches using the server browser, found in the multiplayer menu. Currently, we still have ample room for more players. Please adjust your server browser filter settings using the filter menu (mapped to the right thumbstick button) if you are having difficulty finding an open server.
