    Battlefield-3-News-July-Highlights.jpg

Here on team Battlefield, we definitely saw some fireworks and wanted to keep the party going when celebrating America's Independance Day - making for some great info for this Battlefield Highlights of the Week!

On July 7, we posted the second installment to the Battleblog series, going over the multiplayer classes found in Battlefield 3. This post details the various tweaks to the classes, along with a few new tidbits about the classes that only those who played the multiplayer demo at E3 2011 were privy to, making for a great new installment. Want all the details for the Battlefield 3 multiplayer classes? Battleblog #2: With A Bit Of Class is still available online.

Edge Magazine posted an interview with Lars Gustavsson about the multiplayer of Battlefield 3, adding even more info to the multiplayer motif of the week. The article goes over the size and scope of Battlefield 3’s multiplayer, a few technical aspects, team play, and the evolution of the series. To get the full scoop and see what DICE’s Gustavsson has to say, click here.

With the Battleblog #2 covering a fair bit of detail on the multiplayer of Battlefield 3, it naturally created a fair amount of conversations in the forums. Everything from Wookie Hunters to camper pampers are covered, but a few threads in particular stood out, bringing some great conversation into the fold. In the thread "'New Gadgets for Recon' to Improve Gameplay" discussing some of the suspected new gadgets, even detailing a wish list of items to include in the game. It seems this subject has inspired some great conversation, making this thread an interesting one with plenty of amusing commentary, and definitely worth taking a look.

DICE’s very own Daniel Matros hopped in on a new installment of the Don’t Revive Me Bro Podcast this week, gabbing about all things Battlefield. In this ‘cast, Mr. Matros chats about topics from all across the board – esports, Battlefield at Dreamhack, the development process, and even some of the lessons DICE has learned over the years about game development. All set to the tune of active Bad Company 2 multiplayer matches, adding some great sights and sounds to the proceedings. Want to listen to get the podcast to yourself, headover to the Don’t Revive Me Bro page on Justin.TV.

This week marks the Two Year Anniversary for Battlefield Heroes, and to celebrate this milestone the team held a fan art competition with the winner getting a whole slew of BF Heroes goodies. There were loads of amazing entries, and the BF Heroes team reduced the list of nominees down to the top three, with a winner to be announced later this evening! Head over to BattlefieldHeroes.com for all the submissions and to take a look at the winning piece!

There’s something about dinosaurs that always captures our imagination. These ancient predators have always been a source of wonder, curiosity and awe, especially seeing as nobody has ever seen a living, breathing one for themselves. That’s why we have so much fun referring to them as much as possible, as evidenced by DICE Frostbite Engine Coder Christina Coffin's creation of the *Tyrannosaurus Warfare Pack. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

There’s always an extra dig at a player’s skill when they get killed in game by a melee attack, and fortunately for everyone’s amusement, YouTube user IceViper777 took it a bit further and really clowned on the sniper unaware of his surroundings. Enjoy!

Continuing our theme of knife attacks, here’s a particularly impressive video from YouTube user cole2839, featuring an ATV and some serious skill with a knife. Take a look.

Keeping the knife kills going is YouTube user Ricz0r’s video showing knife kills, making for an impressive display while showing you don’t need much ammo to put some newbs in their place...

Thanks for tuning in and we’ll be back next week with even more Battlefield goodies for you to enjoy! If you have any videos or images, or any other great Battlefield-related items you'd like highlighted, hit us up on Facebook or Twitter! Until then, if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, leave us a note in the comments section and we’ll respond as soon as possible.
